The prince-iple of the matter

Something I have recently been noticing more is that people seem to remain in a hypnotic state when they are given the most influential insights. They all repeat the same phrases.. “You should be the president”.. “We need leaders like you in this country”… “You are a GOD!” People… wake up.

Take Prince Ea for example, since he seems to be everywhere right now. Yes, he is very inspirational, and yes his messages are powerful. I appreciate the awareness he is bringing to many issues, and I hope he continues and never loses his integrity. However, I think the underlying point of his messages so far are simple: think for yourself, and that self-realization is key.

Instead of waiting for another video with another powerful message, do your own research. Experience these revelations first hand and come to your own conclusions before you blindly accept the opinion of someone else. You too can become an influential person, or a “leader.” You have absolutely just as much potential as any influential leader. All you have to do is educate yourself, broaden your perspective, and form your own opinions. One of my favorite quotes is simple and to the point: “If you believe it, you can achieve it.” You can literally do anything you put your mind to. You just have to have confidence and determination. Don’t get me wrong, it doesn’t hurt to hear what others have to say and bounce ideas off each other, just don’t let one person dictate your views and beliefs.

Power is something we give to others. We do this all the time. Especially with Hollywood celebrities in this day and age. It drives me nuts that the majority of conversations I hear, or see on the internet on a daily basis are about what this celeb wore to the grammys, or ‘why’ this celeb couple broke up, or whatever “unpredictable” event happened at an award show that distracts everyone from seeing anything else. Who cares about any of this. These celebs are all just people.. just like you and I, who happen to be living their life in the spotlight to “entertain” everyone else. The bright side, however, is that we get to keep our personal lives private.

In other words, all people seem to be doing lately is obsessing over the wrong things, and subjecting themselves to feeling unworthy. Instead of talking about how amazing one person is, think of how amazing you can be. Don’t follow others because you don’t know where they’re at in their spiritual journey, and you never know what conclusions you may come to on your own.
